The Victoria Falls is one of the grandest waterfalls in the world. It lies on the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe. 


The natives call it  MOSI OA TUNYA which means the smoke that thunders. Its height varies from 80 m to about 108 m at the center. The Victoria falls was discovered by David Livingstone in 1855. The falls were named in honor of queen Victoria.


The Meteor Crater lied in Arizona, USA. It is about 1,200 km across and is 170 m deep. It looks like a big hole in the ground. It was formed when a meteorite crashed here, thousands of years ago.


The northern lights and southern lights are an atmospheric phenomenon consisting of bands  or streams of lights. They occur in the night sky in the northern hemisphere and in the southern hemisphere. They are popularly called AURORA BOREALIS and AURORA AUSTRALIS respectively.

The great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef,stretching for about 2,000 km across the pacific ocean.More than 350 different types of coral species are found here.It is considered the most colorful wonder of the world.


 The Paricutin volcano in Mexico erupted in February 1943. The eruption continued to 1952. Its lava buried most of the town. It has helped many scientists to study the life cycle of a volcano from its birth till its death.


Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world. It lies on the border between Nepal and Tibet. it is 8,848 m high. It was named after Sir George Everest, a British officer. it was first scaled in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. since then, more than 400 people have scald the peak.
